Disability Advocacy Services

Community Advocates’ Disability Advocacy Services department provides representation, information, referral, and general advocacy services to individuals with disabilities who are seeking Social Security disability benefits. In addition to direct representation on disability benefits appeals, the Disability Advocacy Services’ staff also work to ensure that clients have access to the resources and services they need to live in dignity during the appeals process and beyond. Staff also conduct trainings on disability-related issues, participate in community coalitions addressing health care and disability matters, and advocate for policy and systemic change in support of people with disabilities and their families.
