Housing
The Housing Department’s goal is to prevent homelessness and to ensure that rental property housing is safe and adequate. Each year, more than 10,000 individuals benefit from the following services: relocation for individuals who once resided in a placarded residence; rent abatement and rent withholding until needed repairs are completed on rental properties; case management to help people transition to permanent housing; emergency housing assistance for homeless families; security deposit guarantee program; assistance with setting up rent payment plans; and tenant/landlord advocacy and trainings.
For more information about Housing services or to schedule a training, please contact the Housing Department at (414) 449-4777.
